Are there any functional differences between the desktop app and the browser app?

The Genesys Cloud desktop app and browser app offer nearly complete feature parity with a few exceptions:

  • Only the browser app supports extensions.
  • The desktop app uses your computer’s registry and default settings to determine region. If your computer does not have a region set, Genesys Cloud prompts you to select a region when load the app.
  • The desktop app features a menu option that allows you to check for updates.
  • When you enable screen recording, the desktop app records all screens automatically.
