Assign roles, divisions, licenses, and add-ons

AI-generated summary

Genesys Cloud Resource Center provides administrators with comprehensive tools for managing organizational access and licensing through role assignment, division management, and add-on allocation. Role and license assignment are directly correlated, with each role's license cost determined by its most expensive assigned permission. Administrators can assign roles to individual users through the User Management > Users interface by editing user profiles and selecting from a searchable role list, with the option to apply division-specific restrictions. For bulk operations, roles can be assigned to multiple users simultaneously via the Manage Roles and Permissions page using search filters by individual, group, division, manager, or location. When Division-Aware Role Management is enabled at the organization level, administrators must hold relevant per-division permissions to grant role access. Licensing add-ons are assigned through the Divisions & Licenses tab in a user's profile, with available add-ons indicated by an asterisk next to the user license. Administrators can also view users assigned to specific roles by navigating to Menu > User Management > Roles and Permissions, locating the desired role, selecting the More option, and clicking Change Membership to display current role assignments. Required permissions for these administrative functions include Authorization > Grant > Add, Authorization > Grant > View, and Authorization > Role > View. The platform includes a feedback mechanism for reporting documentation issues such as inaccurate information, outdated content, or navigation difficulties, and provides related resources covering people and permissions, access control, role identification and management, division-based object transfers, role editing, licensing s, and coaching appointment features

Important: The license that each role uses corresponds to the most expensive permission assigned to the role. The license represents the cost associated with assigning the role.

Assign roles and divisions

Assign additional roles and divisions for members of your organization who should have more permissions than the default employee role allows. For more information, see Roles and permissions overview. Roles and permissions are directly associated to license assignment. You can assign a role to an individual, and you can assign individuals to a role.

Assign a role to an individual. Assign one or more roles to an individual by opening a user’s profile in the administrator view. If a role does not meet the user’s existing license assignment, administrators can update the user to the appropriate license.
Assign people to a role. Assign roles to several people at once from the Manage Roles and Permissions page.

Note: If the Division-Aware Role Management setting is enabled at the organization level, then admins must have the relevant permission on a per-division basis to provide role grants for users. For more information, see .
