Download contact list records

AI-generated summary

Genesys Cloud provides an Export feature within its Outbound contact management system that enables users to download contact list records in comma-delimited (.csv) format for campaign analysis and verification purposes. Users require "Outbound > Contact List – View" and "Outbound > Contact – View" permissions to access this functionality through Menu > Digital and Telephony > Outbound > List Management. The export process generates a download file with a system-generated prefix followed by the contact list name. Users must remain on the page without refreshing until export completion is confirmed. Exported files contain both user-uploaded columns (phone number, phone type, postal code) and system-generated columns that provide comprehensive tracking capabilities. System-generated columns include contact identification (in-outbound-id), multi-channel contactability indicators (ContactCallable, ContactableByVoice/Sms/Email/WhatsApp), automatic time zone mapping (ZipCodeAutomaticTimeZone), and channel-specific attempt tracking with timestamps in UTC format. The system records wrap-up codes for call outcomes and distinguishes between system-generated and agent-assigned codes. When contact lists are shared across multiple active campaigns, the export includes campaign attribution fields identifying which campaign last attempted contact via each channel. Contactability status is tracked independently for voice, SMS, email, and WhatsApp channels, with indicators showing availability (1) or unavailability (0) for each channel. Invalid NANP numbers are flagged as "Undetermined" in time zone mapping. Last attempt timestamps and corresponding wrap-up codes document communication outcomes such as OUTBOUND-MESSAGE-SENT or OUTBOUND-MAX-MESSAGE-LENGTH-EXCEEDED. Metadata fields document list configuration and lifecycle management, including SharedContactListCampaign indicators, ContactListRetentionType specifications, RetentionDays duration, DateExpiration timestamps, and DateCreated records. These retention and temporal fields are populated only when retention configuration has been established for the contact list. For automation integration, Genesys Cloud recommends mapping data by column name rather than position, as system-generated column order may vary. The .csv format supports editing via spreadsheet applications or plain text editors, and users can re-export records after initial export completion. Use the Export option to download contact list records as a comma-delimited format file to:

View the results from the most recent campaign.
Check for any recent changes due to new or updated rules or agent assignments.

The Export option is available when you edit an existing contact.

Click Menu > Digital and Telephony > Outbound > List Management.
Click the Contact Lists tab.
Click a link in the Name column of the list that you want to download.
Note: To open a contact list entry from the Contact Management page, click a link in the Contact List column.
Click Export.
The system displays a wait indicator while it prepares the download file. When the file is ready, click Click here to download.

The system sends the file to your browser’s download folder. Remain on the page without refreshing until you receive a notification that the export is complete. The file name is a system-generated prefix, followed by the contact list name. For example: 3cc0dd84-d738-4bf5-8080-bef8e673df24-Example.csv

For best results, manage file contents using a spreadsheet. However, since the format of .csv is plain text, you can edit the file using a plain text editor.

Notes:

Attempts to download the same list again before the export is complete result in an error.
Once the export completes, you can reselect records to download. Click Re-export.

Internally generated columns in .csv data files

Exported .csv files contain several system-generated columns, in addition to the columns uploaded from the contact list properties, such as phone number, phone type, and postal code.

Note: If you are using automation to write the results of a campaign from the exported .csv file to a database, we recommend you map data according to the column name and not the column position, as the order of the system-generated columns can change in exported .csv files.
