Users park active messages by clicking the Park button, which removes the interaction from the Conversations roster and relocates it to Parked Conversations accessible via Menu > Workspace > Parked Conversations. Resuming parked interactions requires navigating to Parked Conversations and selecting Resume Work under the Action column, which returns the message to the user's Conversations roster. Digital conversations can be parked for up to seven days by default, with administrators able to adjust this timeframe between one and 28 days. Users can park up to 25 messages simultaneously. Required permissions for parking functionality include Conversation > Message > Park for parking conversations, Conversation > Communication > Blind transfer permissions for reassigning interactions to users or queues, and Relate > Contact > View or ExternalContacts > Contact > View for accessing sender information. Genesys Cloud automatically resumes parked message interactions upon park expiration or when a follow-up message arrives from the contact. After-call work (ACW) handling depends on the queue's wrap-up configuration, with the parking agent or timer completing ACW based on whether the configuration is optional, mandatory with discretion, or mandatory with time-boxing. When supervisors park conversations, auto-resume events route the conversation back to the original queue regardless of supervisor queue membership. Genesys Cloud routes auto-resumed conversations based on queue association rather than the last handling agent, meaning conversations may be delivered to agents other than the most recent participant if the original agent is unavailable. Administrators should reassign any parked emails to another user or queue before deleting a user account to prevent data loss.
