Best practices for generating guides using AI prompts
AI-generated summary
Genesys Cloud Resource Center outlines best practices for generating guides using AI prompts. A well-crafted prompt defines the AI agent's behavior, tone, and constraints. Prompts must describe the guide's goal and intent. Streamline instructions closely for a single intent. Outline conversational steps sequentially and include key steps that achieve the outcome. Specify tools like data actions and variables as placeholders. Write clear, concise steps that minimize ambiguity. Mention known tools to add later. Follow guidelines that help the AI system generate effective guides.
A well-crafted prompt is crucial for generating a useful guide.
Note: AI prompts provide you with a quick starting point for building AI Guides. Multiple iterations and testing may be required to define variables and link data actions, for example, to tune a guide to serve its intended purpose.
When designing an AI prompt to generate a guide, consider these guidelines:
Start with the goal or purpose of the guide.
Describe the path that you expect the guide to follow including key decision points and expected outcomes.
Guides work better when they are designed to achieve a single intent. To generate such a guide, streamline your prompt instructions as closely as possible for that intent.
Include the key steps that are essential for the guide to achieve the preferred outcome. For example, “This Guide takes users through the process of identifying and fixing network connection issues.”
Write clear and concise descriptions to minimize ambiguity and help the system generate effective guides.
Specify any variables that you want to include in the guide and describe the data actions. The guide automatically creates variables and adds placeholders for the data actions. Review the variables for accuracy and replace or create data actions later.
Example: An AI prompt to generate a Safety Systems AI agent
Help customers with technical issues who start a conversation with the Safety Systems virtual assistant.
Greet them with a welcome message and ask them what issue they’d like help with.
Classify issues as: "recall", "red light blinking", "sensor not working" or "other".
Respond by asking for a serial number to check for product recalls.
If the product is not in recall, diagnose the issue and walk them through the steps to fix it.
If the product is in recall, inform the customer that the product has been recalled, provide details about the recall and recommend scheduling a technician visit.
