Agentic virtual agents execute the latest published version and integrate with Architect flows through defined input and output variables. Input variables pass starting context values (literal or expression-based) to the agent, while output variables capture end context data returned after interaction completion. The system tracks exit reasons—Error, Escalation, TriggeredByUser, or Guardrails—which can be assigned to variables for flow logic. Flow authors can drag appropriate actions below each execution path to define the interaction route, ensuring controlled agent behavior with explicit success, failure, and timeout handling to prevent extended user wait times. Key capabilities include slot authoring, conversation summaries, wrap-up code retrieval from bot interactions, and performance monitoring through dedicated dashboards. Users can write, publish, and connect AI Guides to Virtual Agent flows while implementing hybrid workflows that combine the agent with conventional flow-based elements as needed. Only published agents are available for selection within the Agentic Virtual Agent configuration field.
