Genesys Cloud Resource Center provides functionality to enable phone system logging on SIP phone trunks, allowing connected Edges to receive syslogs from phones configured for system logging. This feature requires the Telephony > Plugin > All permissions and is intended for use during troubleshooting sessions with Genesys Cloud Product Support personnel. Configuration involves accessing the Telephony > Trunks menu, selecting the Phone Trunks tab, choosing the target trunk, navigating to Connection Configuration > Diagnostic, enabling the Syslog switch, and specifying the port number where Edges will receive logs before saving the configuration. Phone devices must also have their Syslog parameter settings configured in either Base settings or Phone settings. A critical consideration is that enabling phone system logging can degrade system performance and negatively affect Quality of Service (QoS), making it advisable to enable this feature only when actively diagnosing issues with support personnel rather than as a permanent configuration.
