Genesys Cloud provides email capabilities with defined operational limits and automated management protocols designed to support both agent-based and agentless email operations. The platform supports 2 custom or Genesys Cloud domains and 15 campaign/agentless domains, accommodating up to 1000 email addresses per domain. Message size limits are set at 40MB for both inbound and outbound communications including attachments, with base64 encoding adding approximately 33% to overall message size. Sending rate limits vary by use case: 300 messages per minute for agentless email, 3000 messages per minute for combined campaign and agentless email, and 1200 messages per minute per campaign with an organization-wide cap of 1200 messages per minute across all campaigns. Email recipients are limited to 50 combined addresses across To, Cc, and Bcc fields, with agentless email restricted to one address per send. Character restrictions apply across email components: email bodies are limited to 3 MB, subject lines to local parts of email addresses to domain names to (254 for campaigns), and friendly names to Email headers are capped at total across 30 headers maximum. Additional operational constraints include 10 IMAP folders per route, 20 custom SMTP integrations, and 10 IMAP integrations per organization, with a single integration permitted per email domain or address. Auto-response functionality from Architect Flow is restricted to one reply per conversation to prevent recursive auto-reply loops and send limit violations. Email conversation management is governed by interaction lifecycle rules with timers resetting when new emails are sent or received. Parked emails are presented to agents after 7 days of inactivity, and Reconnect Closed Email interactions follow a time-to-live (TTL) of either 30 days from most recent activity or a custom value defined within email threading configuration. The platform supports custom SMTP server integration for outbound emails and custom IMAP integration for inbound emails with capabilities for agentless email notifications and ACD email routing, establishing comprehensive operational boundaries for email campaign management and agent-based email handling
