Attach a file to an email message

AI-generated summary

Genesys Cloud enables users to attach files to email message replies across multiple email integration types, including SMTP, AWS, and Microsoft Graph integrations. The platform uses base64 encoding for messages and attachments, with a maximum outgoing encoded message size of 40 MB across all integration types, resulting in approximately 29 MB net email size after encoding. Users cannot send certain unsupported file types through email interactions. For files exceeding size limits, users can send links to larger documents stored in Genesys Cloud Documents instead. Custom SMTP server integrations adhere to organization-specific maximum sizes up to 40 MB, configurable during setup, with options to request increases through account representatives with business justification. AWS email integrations return errors for messages exceeding 40 MB and accept most attachment types per Amazon SES specifications. Microsoft Graph integrations support a 150 MB size limitation at the Microsoft level. Users attach files by dragging and dropping into the reply field or clicking Attach to select files from the browser; files can be removed by clicking the Remove option beside each attachment.

When you reply to an email message, you can attach a file to send with the email reply. Email interactions support many types of files; however, you cannot send certain types of files through email interactions. For a full list of unsupported file types, see Unsupported Attachment Types.
