Genesys Cloud automates the creation and routing of non-conversational tasks called workitems through API-triggered events and ACD interactions, providing comprehensive work management capabilities across the platform. Workitem administrators define custom attributes, create worktypes and workbins, and configure queue-based routing with automated task progression through defined status workflows and prerequisites. The system executes automated business logic via Architect workflows triggered by workitem status changes, supporting sophisticated workflow automation for managing complex work processes. Agents interact with workitems through a dedicated interface that supports acceptance, transfer, parking, unparking, and search functions. Case Management consolidates multiple workflow steps into comprehensive caseplans for end-to-end process tracking of complex multi-step workflows, enabling creation, viewing, and management of cases as unified entities. Supervisors and administrators access detailed workitem information including priority, due dates, status, worktype, queue, and routing state through Task List functionality, providing real-time visibility into work distribution. Performance monitoring includes Queue Workitems Performance and Detail views for queue-level analysis, as well as Agent Workitems Performance and Detail views for individual agent metrics, enabling administrators and supervisors to analyze workitem handling efficiency and optimize assignment practices. The platform implements fair use policies and tiered pricing models for workitems and case management features, with usage-based pricing through add-ons and free allocations available per organization. Documentation covers triggers, workflows, workitem configuration, queue optimization, performance monitoring, and case management best practices to support effective implementation and optimization of workflow processes.
