Genesys Cloud scripts can access external data through data actions, which are disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled. Users require Scripter > Script > View permissions and Integrations > Action > View/Execute permissions to work with data actions in scripts. Script designers need only View and Execute permissions to add data actions to scripts, while Add/Delete/Edit permissions are required only for managing data action integrations themselves. To enable data actions, administrators must navigate to Menu > Digital and Telephony > Interactions Assets > Scripts, select a script, open Script Properties, locate the Data Actions property group, and activate the enable switch. This functionality allows scripts to integrate with external data sources for enhanced contact center operations.
