Genesys Cloud's Collaborate for Android is a mobile messaging application that provides unified communications capabilities alongside Communicate for Android for calling. The application delivers comprehensive messaging features including group chat, @mentions, message reactions (Approve, Disapprove, Love, or custom emoji), message quoting, copying, and message pinning managed by room owners. Presence synchronization occurs across all Genesys Cloud applications, with user status automatically updating across mobile, desktop, and browser clients. Location-aware access automatically routes users to the nearest Amazon data center based on their selected region during login, with location data expiring after one hour of inactivity. Notification delivery operates intelligently based on presence status—Online or Busy presence suppresses mobile notifications unless the app is open, while Away or Offline status delivers notifications regardless. Users can mute individual chats through swiping, hard-pressing, or settings toggles. Authentication supports email/password credentials or single sign-on (SSO) via identity providers such as OneLogin, with default session timeouts of 30 days or 15 minutes for HIPAA-compliant organizations. Access requires Chrome Custom Tabs browser support and specific organizational permissions including Chat Access, Chat Settings Edit/View, and Mobile > Collaborate > View. The application supports FedRAMP compliance and provides badge count notifications on app icons. Regional selection occurs during initial login and can be changed by logging out and logging back in. Location permissions are required during installation or can be manually enabled through device settings. The application is available via Google Play Store with updates accessible through the Menu > Help option. Logging out stops all mobile notifications and clears authentication tokens, though SSO provider authentication persists unless explicitly disabled. Automatic access to Genesys Tempo is provided upon login without requiring separate credentials.
