Genesys Cloud for Salesforce is an integration that connects Genesys Cloud with Salesforce to enable unified communication and contact center capabilities. Initial setup requires installing the Genesys Cloud managed package in Salesforce, configuring a call center within Genesys Cloud, and granting required permissions through permission sets in Salesforce and corresponding permissions in Genesys Cloud. The integration provides functionality including interaction types and user inboxes. When the managed package is upgraded, new client capabilities automatically update; however, features requiring configuration must be manually configured to be fully utilized. Configuration is performed through Salesforce Setup by navigating to Installed Packages, selecting the Genesys Cloud for Salesforce package, and clicking Configure to access the managed package settings page. Administrator requirements must be met to grant access to Apex classes and assign appropriate permissions across both platforms.
