Manage your SMS long code number inventory

AI-generated summary

Genesys Cloud provides comprehensive SMS long code number inventory management through the SMS Number Inventory page, accessible via Menu > Digital and Telephony > Message > SMS Number Inventory. This feature requires Genesys Cloud CX 2, CX 3, CX 4, or Digital Add-on II licensing, along with specific SMS and messaging permissions. The SMS Number Inventory page displays a detailed list of SMS numbers with column headings identifying the number, status, type, country region, integration details, MMS support capability, MMS content profile assignment, creation date, auto-renewal status, and associated flows or campaigns. Numbers maintain multiple status indicators including Active (available for sending SMS messages), Pending (not yet available for use), Invalid, Initiated, Porting, and Pending Cancelation, each indicating different stages of availability or processing. Key management capabilities include filtering by Type, Country, Status, or Integration to narrow inventory displays; searching by number entered as a continuous string without parentheses, spaces, or hyphens; and releasing numbers no longer needed through single or batch selection. The interface provides a Refresh function to update the inventory and an Add Numbers option offering three methods: Purchase (for SMS longcodes), Alphanumeric (for sender IDs), and Import (for Twilio BYO SMS configuration). Additional management options accessible through a More menu allow administrators to assign MMS content profiles to capable numbers and remove numbers from inventory. The release function includes a confirmation dialog and prevents removal of numbers currently associated with active flows until the flow association is removed. Alphanumeric sender IDs can be reused across multiple countries and appear without country designation in the inventory list. The interface provides real-time search processing and instant status identification through column headings. Users encountering permission errors receive guidance to contact administrators for the required messaging > supported content > view permission. Additional information regarding messaging pricing and inbound message route management is available through integrated documentation links.
