Genesys Cloud supports configurable authentication modes that enable administrators to enforce single sign-on (SSO) authentication exclusively or revert to standard authentication as organizational needs require. When SSO-only mode is activated through the Organization Settings Authentication tab by toggling "Disable Genesys Cloud Login," all password requirement options are automatically disabled while existing settings are preserved for potential future reactivation. This configuration mandates at least one pre-configured third-party SSO provider, with users selecting their preferred provider during login. SSO-only mode implementation involves specific operational constraints: administrators cannot delete all configured SSO providers while this mode remains active, and webhook-based chat notification integrations become incompatible due to their dependence on password authentication. Configuration changes require explicit system acknowledgment; declining the prompt cancels the operation and restores the previous setting. Reverting to standard Genesys Cloud authentication is accomplished by accessing Menu > Account > Organization Settings, selecting the Authentication tab, unchecking the "Disable Genesys Cloud Login" checkbox, and saving changes. This reversion requires reconfiguration of password requirements according to system specifications and necessitates Single Sign-on Provider permissions and an admin role in the organization's identity provider account. The system requires acknowledgment of authentication mode changes; declining cancels the switch and restores the previous state. Genesys Cloud provides comprehensive documentation addressing password requirements, SSO setup, organization settings, and multi-factor authentication, with community support resources available for additional guidance on authentication configuration and management.
