Genesys Cloud provides custom permissions in Salesforce to control granular access to its features and capabilities after installing the CX Cloud, Digital and AI for Salesforce Service Cloud package. These permissions enable administrators to implement role-based access control over communication and collaboration capabilities within the Salesforce environment. The custom permissions framework includes attachment management capabilities through CreateEmailAttachment and CreateWebMessageAttachment, which enable users to add attachments via Email and Chat Lightning Web Components, as well as DeleteEmailAttachment and ReadEmailAttachment for managing email attachments. Communication permissions include SendOutboundEmail and SendOutboundSms, which enable users to send outbound communications on behalf of Genesys Cloud queues. Additional permissions control user access and system behavior: CX Cloud Experience User determines whether new Experience objects are created for messaging and should be removed for agents using BYOC CCaaS for messaging; GenesysCloudUser controls which Salesforce users can access the Digital and AI package in environments where a single Lightning app is shared by both CX Cloud users and non-users; and isGenesysCloudBYOCUser, available only when using BYOC CCaaS. The ReadEmailAttachment permission specifically enables users to read or download email attachments within the Genesys Cloud Email Lightning Web Component. These permissions should be assigned to agents handling messaging interactions through BYOC CCaaS who do not have the CX Cloud Experience User permission, ensuring appropriate access levels based on user roles and deployment configurations.
