HTTP-Enabled Location Delivery (HELD) is a protocol designed to facilitate location information retrieval for Poly VVX, CCX, or Edge E phones. HELD allows these Poly phones to request precise location details from a Location Information Service (LIS). The LIS, acting as a digital map, determines the phone’s location based on predefined network mapping and sends this information back to the requesting device, typically in the form of a location URI or civic address. HELD is essential for various location-based services, enabling devices to accurately share their locations for purposes such as navigation, emergency assistance, and geolocation-based applications.

To enable HELD, you must make changes to your external trunk settings and the base settings for your Poly VVX, CCX, or Edge E phones.
