AI-generated summary

Genesys Cloud provides a Directory search feature that enables users to quickly locate people, groups, and group members within their organization. Users require specific permissions including UI > My organization > View access and Directory > Private Group > View permissions to access private groups. The search functionality supports keyword-based queries across multiple profile fields including names, titles, departments, and skills. Users can enter single or multiple keywords (for example, "marketing Spanish") to find people matching specific criteria, with results sortable by People, Groups, Favorites, or Locations categories. Search results can be further refined by selecting specific categories or applying filters such as departments. Group searches operate similarly to people searches, allowing users to locate groups by descriptive keywords and view group membership. The Directory provides filtering options to display All Members, Owners, Individuals, or Rules-based members. Users can contact group members directly through integrated communication options—clicking the More menu next to a member's name provides Phone or Chat contact capabilities. The Directory distinguishes between internal directory searches and external contact searches, with external contacts requiring use of the External Contacts feature. Results display in both list and full results page formats, with the full results page showing all entries containing entered keywords.
