Genesys Cloud enables group owners to remove members from chat rooms through a straightforward process. Only the owner of a Genesys Cloud group—or the creator in the case of personal groups—can perform this action. To remove a member, the owner accesses the chat room, clicks "See current participants" at the top, hovers over the target member's name, and selects "Remove" from the right side of the name. This action removes the member from the chat room while maintaining their membership in the associated group. To completely remove a member from both the group and its chat room, the member must first be removed from the official group itself. It is important to note that groups and chat rooms function as distinct entities; removing someone from a group does not automatically remove them from the group's chat room, requiring separate removal actions for complete member exclusion.
