When you have multiple sites, you must designate one of those sites to be the Default site. In general, the default site is the site that handles inbound calls. The default site also handles IVR initiated transfers in which it is unclear which site to use.

No. If you use BYOC Cloud or Genesys Cloud Voice, when you create phones, do not select the PureCloud Voice – AWS site. This site is a managed site created by Genesys Cloud as a placeholder during the initial activation of BYOC Cloud or Genesys Cloud Voice. This site serves no other purpose. In fact, you cannot view it it nor configure it for use by your phones.
Genesys Cloud includes three independent concepts that people often call locations:
A is a specific, physical place with an address. An admin configures locations. Locations appear in the section of your profile.
A is a geographic area that Genesys Cloud determines by IP address. An admin can enable or disable geolocation for an organization. Your geolocation appears near your name and photo on your , on your , at the top of a , and in Genesys Cloud for your organization.
No. Changing the location associated with a site will not impact service. But it can take several minutes for the address change to propagate to Emergency Services. If that is a concern, the action should be taken during a maintenance window.
