Genesys Cloud enables agents to accept and complete customer interactions across multiple channels including voice, chat, email, and messaging. Agents join queues to become available for interactions, which display in the Interactions panel with queue wait time indicators. To accept an incoming interaction, agents click "Answer," after which the system displays contact information and interaction duration at the top of the active window. The platform supports concurrent interactions based on administrator configuration of queue and organization settings. During customer engagement, agents interact directly with the customer, and upon interaction completion, they perform after-contact work (ACW) before clicking "Done" to finish the interaction cycle. Required permissions include Routing > Agent > OnQueue, Routing > Queue > Join, Routing > Queue > Search, and Routing > Queue > View. The system provides visual feedback through interaction alerts with countdown timers showing available acceptance time and queue duration, enabling agents to manage interactions efficiently across different communication channels.
