Genesys Cloud enables agents and supervisors to manage shift trade requests through an inbox notification system. Agents can submit shift trade requests and view approved, denied, and pending notifications in their inbox, which displays up to 100 requests from the last 30 days. When another agent sends a trade request or when a trade involving the agent changes, the agent receives an inbox notification. Shift trades requiring approval generate notifications to administrators. Agents can mark requests as read, view request details, and access their schedule with the Shift Trades panel to review request information by clicking the notification or selecting "View Details" from the More menu. Access requires specific licensing (Genesys Cloud CX 3, CX 4, CX 2 WEM Add-on I, CX 1 WEM Add-on II, or EX) and permissions: agents need "Workforce Management > Agent Shift Trade Request – Participate" permission to submit requests, while supervisors require "Workforce Management > Alternative Shift – View" and "Edit" permissions to manage alternative shifts. Notifications are triggered when another agent sends a direct trade request, when a trade involving the agent changes status, or when an alternative shift trade request is approved or denied.
