Genesys Cloud's script editing functionality enables users to modify interaction scripts within the Contact Center interface through the Admin or Digital and Telephony menu paths. Users require specific Scripter permissions (Script > All, PublishedScript > Add, and PublishedScript > View) to access this feature. The editing process involves selecting a script from the Script Name column, making modifications, and saving changes via Script > Save. The platform includes an autosave feature that automatically preserves unsaved changes when users navigate away from the editor, allowing draft recovery upon return. However, autosave protection operates within a six-minute window and only functions for scripts that have been saved at least once. When a script is opened on a different device or browser, users receive a notification prompting recovery of unsaved changes before the six-minute expiration; after this period, unsaved changes are discarded.
The following permissions:
All permission under Scripter > Script
Scripter > Published Script - Add
Scripter > Published Script - View
Click Menu > Digital and Telephony > Interaction Assets > Scripts.
In the Script Name column, click the name of a script. The script opens in edit mode.
Make your changes and click Script > Save.
Note: If, while editing a script, you navigate away, the script editor 's autosave feature preserves your unsaved changes. When you return, the script editor reloads your draft with unsaved changes in place. If you leave your computer and open your script on another computer or browser, a message appears alerting you that you have unsaved changed and prompting you to recover them. After six minutes this message disappears, and the script editor discards any unsaved changes. The autosave feature is only available with scripts you have saved at least once.
