Genesys Cloud provides comprehensive documentation for the Customer Hardware Solution – Small Edge device, a deployment option built on HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen11 hardware featuring Intel Xeon processors, 16 GB RAM, and internal hard disk storage. The solution requires three internal hard disks total: two configured in RAID 1 for primary storage and one dedicated for factory image restoration and operating system upgrades. Two chassis configurations are available—Option 1 includes one built-in internal hard disk (requiring two additional disks) and Option 2 includes no built-in disk (requiring three additional disks). All hard disks must be identical HPE-approved SSDs or HDDs with 960 GB or larger capacity. Option 1 features an Intel Xeon E-2434 quad-core processor, while Option 2 uses an Intel Xeon E-2414 quad-core processor. Both configurations support alternative Xeon processors (6369P, 6357P, 6353P, 6349P, 6337P, 6333P, 6325P, 6315P) and include an optional iLO Enablement Kit. Each recommended component includes an HPE product number and approved alternative HPE products; alternatives marked as N/A indicate no approved substitutes exist. Hardware verification can be performed through HPE PartSurfer using product numbers. The documentation supports multiple deployment scenarios through alternative bill of materials options, including configurations based on the P16006 chassis. The bill of materials has undergone multiple iterations to enhance installation processes in high-security network environments while providing administrators improved log access and control. Recent updates include validation of next-generation hardware components, introduction of alternative HPE product numbers for small configurations, expansion of next-generation hardware options, and transition to Amazon Linux 2023 operating system for improved security and administrative control. Pre-packaged Linux Edge appliances support the CHS installer as an alternative to RMA procedures, along with OS-level password management capabilities. Once hardware is acquired and assembled, Edge setup can proceed according to Genesys Cloud setup documentation.
