Genesys Cloud enables network capture functionality for BYOC Premises Edge devices to facilitate troubleshooting and diagnosis of network issues. This feature captures all network traffic passing through a specified network interface and saves the data in .pcap file format for analysis with tools such as Wireshark. Users with Telephony > Plugin > All permissions can configure capture duration up to a maximum of one week by setting a specific end date and time. Key technical considerations include performance degradation and potential QoS impact when network capture is enabled. Critical restrictions apply: the feature cannot be enabled for organizations using Secure IVR, as it would log sensitive data entered into IVR flows, and it is unavailable for PCI-compliant organizations with PCI DSS settings enabled. To enable network capture, administrators navigate to Menu > Digital and Telephony > Telephony > Edges, select the target Edge device, access the Network Interfaces tab, choose the specific interface to monitor, proceed to the Diagnostics tab, enable Network Capture, set the capture end date and time, and save the configuration. Captured logs can subsequently be downloaded for detailed analysis.
